Student Pulse Survey

Shares the behaviours, motivations and expectations of tertiary students in New Zealand.

Graduate Survey
with the New Zealand Association of Graduate Employers

Graduates who have successfully gained a graduate position share their experiences, what motivated them to apply and accept their role and future intentions.

Employer Survey
with the New Zealand Association of Graduate Employers

Employers share information on their approach to attract, select and develop graduate talent including salary information, training and development budgets and future plans.

Student Pulse Report 2018

Our annual student survey report is now available for Talent Solutions clients. It is the biggest national survey of university students and provides insights into student job-seeking behaviours and much more.

Students are hungry for real-world experience

Over two-thirds of respondents indicated that they have already undertaken, or intend to undertake an internship during their studies.

If you are not offering internship opportunities, we would strongly recommend a review of your position.

 

International student numbers are growing

International students make up 18% of total students (FTE) enrolled in Bachelors level or above and numbers have increased by almost 6% from the year prior.

NZAGE Graduate and employer surveys  2017

The New Zealand Association of Graduate Employers surveys have been run since 2012. They are designed to provide market insights and inform employers involved in the attraction, selection, development and retention of graduate talent in New Zealand.

HIGHLIGHTS

Wellness at Work

One of the questions asked of graduates was how often they found their role stressful. 84% of graduates find their role at least sometimes stressful, with almost one-in-four finding it stressful more often than not.

Work Experience

Most of the employers surveyed provide some form of work experience opportunity. Results from both the Student Pulse and NZAGE Graduate surveys show that the majority of students are applying for work experience opportunities and finding them incredibly valuable. Well designed work experience opportunities are a fantastic to way attract talent to your organisation.
